R.I.P. to Old Favorite Open Court Blogs

walkingcarpet1.gif :

As painful as it is I am removing the following long dormant blogs from my blogroll today. If by any chance they are revived I will gladly add them again.

The first is Rocky’s blog which was in many ways a precursor to this blog with articles on the Concept/Question Board and scaffolding the writing process.

The second is Ms. Gomez’s blog. Ms. Gomez used her blog as something of an online Concept/Question Board. I used it as an example when I taught at Antioch University two years ago. But it is no longer updated.

These two teachers were blogging three years ago and were clearly ahead of their time. I thank them for their inspiration.

  1. Hi Mathew,
great to see your developing web presence! Regarding a blogroll and current posting; I guess your’re right. A blog is a conversation that develops over time. If the conversation stops on one end, we continue our journey. Nowadays I rely on maintaining a short rss list. rather I am subscribing to certain content found on rss search feeds. This keeps the content fresh. This is especially true after NECC 2007 after following blogs using standard technorati tags. Either way, the conversation continues. On a side note, I’ll be facilitating a F2F k12online class with the UPDATE program starting November 7th. Would love to have you participate.
