Educational Technology Open Court Reading

New Class Session Opened

Closing the Digital Divide

New class session for Integrating Technology in the Open Court Curriculum and Closing the Digital Divide has now been opened for this summer at LACOE for those who couldn’t get into the first class. Go here to register.

This is a three day workshop. Hope to see you there!

> Expand your instruction beyond the Open Court teacher edition and discover ways to effectively infuse technology into your teaching. Learn how to use technology to increase reading fluency, motivate reluctant writers, and engage in higher level thinking—all without losing a minute of Open Court Reading time.

Strategies will include student and teacher use of technology including digital video, presentation software, internet research and digital networking. Practical considerations like time management, organization, and working with limited technology resources will be discussed. Teachers will return to their classrooms with several options for engaging students with technology and increasing student achievement.

BONUS!
A Clay Animation Kit from Tech4Learning will be included with the registration fee. Clay animation is a highly motivating and effective way to engage students in curriculum objectives while improving retention of important classroom concepts.

The instructors for this exciting workshop will be Mathew Needleman, Teacher/Webmaster Open Court Resources.com and Carolyn Daly, Tech4Learning.
