If you’re in the Southern California area, please make plans to join me at one of the following one-day Saturday workshops at the Los Angeles County Office of Education in Downey, California.
The dates are finally set and they are February 9th and March 29th.
Closing the Digital Divide
Integrating Technology in the Open Court Reading Series
Registration is open now at this site
Learning objectives:
Participants attending this workshop will be able to:
Integrate technology in ways which support their core reading series.
Plan technology lessons with clear objectives and an assessment component.
Explain typical software and hardware needed for completing simple projects.
Describe the importance of putting technology in the hands of students to help close the digital divide.
Manage time in ways which support district pacing plans AND allow for technology integration.
Create ebooks using Comic Life, short films with iMovie, and know how to podcast their projects and connect with global communities
This is a hands-on workshop that’s practical and a lot of fun. It’s designed in such a way that participants work collaboratively and at their own pace so both advanced computer users and newbies have gotten a lot out of previous workshops. I hope to see you there.
