On my list of top five list of suggested things to do before starting the new school year is to join the Open Court Reading Discussion Board.

The Discussion Board has over one thousand members and has lively discussions. I have found it extremely helpful to chat with my fellow Open Court teachers whenever starting a new unit or having a question about the program.

You can choose to set your membership so that you receive only one e-mail per day or no e-mails at all (by default, however, your account is set to receive an e-mail any time someone posts a message so be sure to change this).
