I’ve been aware of Archive.org’s Way Back Machine for awhile but only this month has it really come to my rescue.

For the uninitiated, the “Way Back Machine” captures web pages at various times throughout the past four or five years or so. I used to use it to see my old web page designs. However, this month I discovered that my favorite Reader’s Theater site had been taken offline. I had printed out copies of the free Reader’s Theater from LisaBlau.com many times but when I moved schools over the summer I threw out the paper copies thinking, “What would I need them for? They’re on the internet.”

Thanks to the Way Back Machine I was able to download the old Reader’s Theater.

Let me also take a moment to thank Lisa Blau, who passed away in 2001, for her contributions to my students’ love of reading.

Warning: There are ways to scrub these old sites from the Way Back Machine. I suspect that by drawing attention to it that the LisaBlau site might soon be removed. If you use Reader’s Theater in your classroom, you may want to download these free scripts now before they’re gone.
